I Dream in RGB
Australia-based Interdisciplinary artist I dream in RGB , aka Andrea Draper (she/her), explores dynamic collages as moving image, alongside other digital and hand-rendered practices. The artist enjoys working in usually dark spaces, which when illuminated, often results in vibrant disruption of the viewer’s relationship with the environment.
Andrea embraces a digital weaving of image manipulation, hand-rendered elements, patterning, and typography, to fuse visual art with graphic design.
The artist often investigates cultural identity, including her Burmese ethnicity, a childhood in London’s East End and a later upbringing in Melbourne’s outer suburbia. This background inspires dialogues of diaspora, remixes of pop culture, and contemporary interpretations of her multifaceted lived experiences.
Alongside found imagery, the artist generates original digital material to remix within the work. The layering of personalised and existing elements strengthens her bespoke approach, revealing a distinctive recontextualisation of the original meaning.
The artist is also an enthusiastic educator and teaches painting, printmaking, drawing and graphic design at a number of Melbourne institutes in Australia.

Projection Art
I dream in RGB experiments with artistic projections on a variety of external structures. The artist enjoys playing with distortions on building shapes and the interruption of surface textures. The unexpected surprises that emerge through the collision of art and the built environment is welcome.
